What would Christmas be?

By John Aldred

What would Christmas be without criticism
Without the clash of channel with channel
The ethered pictures lulling one to sleep
And never mind the ratings panel.

The extended sitcom
The Disney for the middle aged kids
The comedies from yesteryear
With non-offensive covered cupids.

The extra special Christmas soaps
To ensure victory in the ratings war.
Who counts and how, where any set is set
To produce the several millions score.

The planners with their cynicism
And me,with my agnosticism
Await the post holiday critic's narcissism
What would Christmas be without criticism?
